Basis Releases IR Edition of Surphaser 100HSX Laser Scanner

Published: Thursday, August 15, 2013 - 14:53

(Basis Software: Redmond, WA) -- Basis Software Inc., designer, marketer, and supplier of 3D laser scanning systems and products, released the “IR” version of the Surphaser 100HSX, their latest phase-shift, hemispherical laser scanner at the 2013 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CSMC) held last month in San Diego.

The 100HSX-IR incorporates the many advances of the 100HSX platform with characteristics that are specifically tailored for intermediate range (1–35 m), high-accuracy scanning. The 100HSX-IR brings several significant advances beyond the current Surphaser 25HSX-IR including almost twofold improvement of range noise for a wide range of distance/surface combinations, available onboard controls, and battery power. The 100HSX-IR also provides a substantial advancement in thermal and environmental stability. The exceptionally clean point clouds produced by Surphaser laser scanners enable efficient modeling and provide the best source material for automated modeling and dimensional control applications.

The 100HSX-IR is now available in two configurations, the 100HSX-IR-Lite and the 100HSX-IR-PC. Both configurations are shipped with the 100HSX-IR scanner and Basis’ SurphExpress Software Suite. The 100HSX-IR-PC adds a battery adapter, two batteries, and a built in PC for onboard control of scanning operations. The 100HSX PC series represents the first Surphaser to ship with onboard controls and a snap-on battery power supply.
