A new Six Sigma course offered at the University of Notre Dame is specifically designed for health care professionals. “Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for Health Care Professionals” addresses the complex challenge of controlling costs while improving quality in the medical field. A blended-learning program includes online instruction through training provider MoreSteam.com and an intensive one-week residential program on Notre Dame’s South Bend, Indiana, campus Nov. 7–11.
Experienced faculty will present the lean Six Sigma body of knowledge using health care examples, practice exercises, case studies and simulations. Health care professionals will share their experiences, successes and lessons learned with the methodologies. The course is offered through Notre Dame’s Executive Education program.
“Six Sigma’s quality improvement focus integrates well with Notre Dame’s values-based decision-making approach,” says Leo Burke, associate dean and director of Executive Education. “This new offering in our growing program portfolio provides a unique opportunity for health care professionals to achieve measurable results by applying lean Six Sigma technical tools and analytical techniques.”
