A recently released book examines new insights and perspectives on how Six Sigma process management can be used to achieve business process leadership. What is Six Sigma Process Management? (McGraw-Hill, 2005) by Rowland Hayler and Michael Nichols, outlines the use of Six Sigma process management, defining it as a structured set of tools and techniques to help executives and teams continually address their customers’ expectations.
“The book details a proven methodology for helping business leaders determine which efforts will most positively impact their customers, employees and shareholders,” explains Nichols.
Hayler is the director of international operations for Pivotal Resources, a global consulting and training firm that focuses on organizational improvement through the use of Six Sigma, lean and related methodologies. Hayler is a former vice president of Six Sigma at American Express. Nichols, a senior Master Black Belt, is the director of Six Sigma design within the Global Reengineering/Six Sigma group at American Express. He is also the principal consultant for Nichols Quality Associates.
