(ASQ: Milwaukee, Wisconsin) -- Physician profiles are becoming an integral part of hospital appointment, reappointment, and ongoing professional-practice evaluation (OPPE) as now required by The Joint Commission. The American Society for Quality will provide direction on creating a profile, as well as potential pitfalls and how to avoid them with an online seminar.
Henry Johnson, M.D., MPH, medical director of the MIDAS software division of ACS Healthcare Solutions, will provide insight on physician profiling in this new free webinar scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 1–2 p.m. CDT. The seminar is sponsored by Statit Software, a provider of continuous performance improvement solutions for health care. This event will be of interest to health care professionals involved with hospital medical staffs and others in health care administration, services, and policy information who need the tools and education to deploy ongoing professional practice evaluation and ultimately improve care delivery. Dr. Johnson will examine how to build a quality profile that includes accurate and reliable data, how to design required quality performance measures, and how to implement a step-by-step process that minimizes risk of failure.
Health care professionals can register for the webinar at www.asq.org/healthcareqps/.
Dr. Johnson’s experience includes serving the five-hospital Scripps Health System in San Diego as vice president of clinical measurement and outcomes, and working as an Institute of Medical Quality surveyor for the California hospital accreditation program.
“As the health care industry continues to change rapidly, we are pleased to offer webinars with experts who provide the most current insight to help professionals do their jobs more effectively,” says Michael Nichols, ASQ president.
