(Apriso: Long Beach, CA) -- Apriso, a provider of manufacturing software solutions for sustained manufacturing operational excellence, recently announced an expanded partnership agreement with Predisys to deliver advanced statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analytics (QDA) as an integrated FlexNet capability. FlexNet Advanced SPC offers a revolutionary, web-based approach for global manufacturers to improve product quality, expedite new product introductions, and lower the total cost of quality, leading to elevated manufacturing excellence.
This new product combines Predisys’advanced statistical calculation and analytics engine with Apriso’s depth of operations management and execution capabilities by leveraging a common technology platform based on Microsoft .NET and SharePoint Server connectivity. Global manufacturers can now better capture critical manufacturing KPIs from Apriso’s unified data model and implement SPC and QDA, not only for quality monitoring, but also to trigger faster response and corrective actions through Apriso’s native business process management (BPM) capabilities. As a result, manufacturers can respond faster to quality events while delivering a higher level of manufacturing operational excellence.
“To ensure a truly networked approach to quality management, companies need to have visibility into and understanding of the quality events that pose risk,” says Simon Jacobson, research director of AMR Research. “[Too often] companies initiate corrective action processes only when a complaint or failure has been discovered and formally registered vs. capturing them in production as they occur. Instead of being able to identify and mitigate risk trends, companies end up chasing the same complaint at multiple facilities, or events slip through the cracks at some of the facilities.”
The capability to expedite root cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions with integrated SPC, analytics, and Apriso’s BPM technologies across multiple facilities enable manufacturers to rapidly improve production yield and overall quality, while introducing new products faster than previously possible.
“Manufacturing operations managed by FlexNet can be analyzed either in line or off line on a continuous or ad-hoc basis, to better understand variability in product quality and manufacturing processes as well as within systems, test equipment, or measurement tools,” says John Fishell, vice president of product management at Apriso. “The Apriso data model, extending across all the elements of manufacturing with full interlocking traceability, is uniquely suited to provide the necessary access to operational data for quality analytics and future continuous improvement.”
“We are pleased to have joined forces with Apriso to deliver such an innovative, intuitive, and integrated solution for quality improvement,” says Bo Sorensen, vice president of sales and marketing at Predisys. “As a combined solution, our mutual manufacturing customers have already demonstrated the positive financial impact that can be achieved by easily gaining full insight into product quality.”
By applying complex mathematical analyses to key historical production line metrics, manufacturers can reduce current and future variability of processes to reduce waste spanning multiple plants, functions, and geographies. FlexNet’s advanced global capabilities and its new advanced SPC and quality data analytics lets customers easily embed or quickly modify any manufacturing process, helping to enforce Six Sigma and lean best practices on a global scale.
