Harnessing Enterprise Quality for Business Value

An APQC/ASQ best practice study

(APQC: Houston) -- Quality is a key concern for many organizations as they return to the business of doing business. In many instances this means recalibrating how to effectively measure quality for their organization. The American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ) are offering a best-practices study to help businesses discover the most effective quality measurement governance models. Beginning in June 2011 with a kickoff meeting, followed by site visits in July and August, and culminating in a knowledge transfer session in September, participating organizations will be able to identify quality-measurement process owners and gatekeepers, and learn the roles and responsibilities assigned to them.

The enterprise quality measurement process
• Select a set of measures or metrics that accurately reflect quality across the entire value
chain
• Examine effective methods of establishing targets and thresholds to evaluate performance of the selected organizational quality measures

Supporting the creation of business value
• Identify methods of using quality measures to support the discovery, evaluation, and transfer of best practices across diverse functions
• Understand how quality measurement and performance transparency can influence culture and promote rapid change

For more information about specific dates and fees, visit APQC’s website. A customized benchmarking report, which compares your organization’s data against peers, is available for an additional charge.
