Event: ASQ Offers Free Performance Excellence Webinars

Topics focus on business process management tools.

(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- The American Society for Quality (ASQ) invites government and public health care quality professionals to register for two free webinars—one focuses on the process improvement success story of the public health organization, the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment Services (NIATx), and the other highlights strategies to make lean process improvement a priority in local, state, and national government.

Out of Crisis: Business Process Management Tools for Turbulent Times

This free webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, Noon – 1 p.m. EDT and features Tom Mosgaller, director of change management, NIATx, and past president and chair of the board of ASQ. NIATx, based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has worked to take W. Edwards Deming’s message and translate it into a research-based, practical, and easy-to-use set of principles and practices to help health and human service organizations transform the way they do business. It has grown from a pilot process improvement effort with 23 service providers to a nationally recognized initiative involving more than 1,000 payers, policymakers, and behavioral health providers nationally. The presentation will be a practical walk-through of the NIATx approach with an emphasis on the tools used for incremental process improvement, as well as large-scale change.
