Software Improves Care at Pediatric Hospital PQ Systems SQCpack
For Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota--the largest children's health care organization in the upper
Midwest--identifying, coordinating and implementing continuous process improvement measures is no haphazard task. To focus, measure and document its large-scale quality
improvement program and more easily maintain organized records of improvement efforts, the organization began using PQ Systems Inc.'s SQCpack.
Children's Hospitals, which offers a full range of pediatric specialty services, critical care and clinics to children from newborns through adolescents, uses
SQCpack to plot surgical measures and board quality measures. Charting has enabled the large health care organization to focus on data as it pursues continuous
improvement in processes. Teams have used SQCpack to decide where to focus their improvement energy and to measure improvements as they occur. The
software provides a system to monitor processes and outcomes and help in deciding where efforts should be focused.
The software combines powerful statistical quality control techniques with flexibility and user-friendliness, making data analysis easier than ever. It allows
users to create a variety of charts and reports, using system defaults or their own custom setting. Spreadsheet-style data entry screens make it easy to enter data.
However, keyboard entry is only one way to bring data into SQCpack; data can also be imported from other software programs through its easy ASCII import
function. Chart data through the clipboard with Auto Chart, or use ODBC links to chart data that resides in other programs.
When teamed with PORTspy Plus or MEASUREspy, SQCpack for Windows can automatically chart data from a variety of measurement devices and data collectors.
SQCpack for Windows provides tools for variables, attributes and Pareto data, helping to analyze processes thoroughly and to prioritize improvements. An online
SQC Quality Advisor is available to answer questions about chart interpretation or the best chart for specific applications. |
