(Coordinate Metrology Society: Concord, North Carolina) -- The Coordinate Metrology Society, a membership association for measurement professionals, will host its 24th Annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) 2008 from July 21–25, 2008 at the new Embassy Suites overlooking Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, the heart of NASCAR country.
The five-day event is designed to serve professional and novice users of portable 3-D coordinate measurement technology. The conference is comprised of presentations of white papers by expert users from leading companies and universities, informative workshops, and user group meetings. A large exhibition hall will showcase portable coordinate measurement systems (PCMMs), software, accessories, peripherals, and inspection and measurement service providers. The Coordinate Metrology Society will also host a membership banquet and entertainment, and an educational tour of the local area during the week.The CMSC is renowned for an open, educational atmosphere in which attendees can network with a community of expert and novice users, and learn about the latest trends and innovations in the field of portable multidimensional industrial metrology. Measurement technologies exhibited at the conference include industrial photogrammetry solutions, laser trackers, laser radars, IGPS systems, laser scanners, laser projection systems, articulating arms, theodolites, and more.
More than 40 exhibitors participated at the 2007 conference. Conference attendees hail from science/research laboratories, and diverse industries such as aerospace, space hardware, antenna, automotive, shipbuilding, power generation, and general engineering organizations.
