Body
An upcoming American National Standards Institute course will examine the use of an emerging standardization process in the homeland security profession. Strategic Standardization Management is a process that investigates all aspects of standardization across a business, organization or industry and then defines, recommends and implements appropriate strategies. ANSI’s education and training services team will host a workshop, Strategic Standardization Management for the Homeland Security Community, on Sept. 29 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, prior to the ANSI Homeland Security Standards Panel plenary meeting. The panel will be held Sept. 29–30.
The course content will include examples and class discussions about how members of the homeland security community have launched a fast-paced standards harmonization campaign and are now managing a rapidly expanding work program. Participants will learn why it’s advantageous to implement a standards strategy and participate in standards development, and receive tools to proceed with both.
The American National Standards Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
