Educational session
Sharon Norton, RN, certified professional in health care quality (CPHQ), and a training and implementation specialist for Quantros, co-hosted an educational session at the NAHQ conference with Ann E. Victor-Lazarus, MS, RN, certified professional in health care risk management (CPHRM), and vice president of patient advocacy for Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), in Buffalo, New York. Their presentation, “Catch a Falling Star: Developing and Improving a Patient Fall Safety Program Utilizing Electronic Event Data,” reviewed how ECMC used Quantros solutions to gather, track, and share patient-fall event data as part of their “Catch a Falling Star” patient safety program, achieving a 26-percent reduction in the fall rate throughout the organization.
“The focus on education and shared learning opportunities is a main reason we participate in the NAHQ annual conference year after year,” says Chris Bethell, vice president of marketing for Quantros. “It’s a great opportunity to hear directly from executives and clinicians [who work] at the point of care, and learn how we can help them achieve their patient safety and performance improvement goals.”
