(Marposs: Auburn Hills, MI) -- Marposs, a world leader in measurement, inspection, and test technologies, has announced the availability of its Tecna T2 leak tester and AV10 test fixture solution developed specifically for verifying the integrity of medical blood lines. Featuring the reliable Tecna T2 pressure decay leak tester with an integrated pneumatic test fixture, this compact system provides semiautomatic testing and error proofing, helping to reduce operator motion and overall cycle time.
The T2/AV10 automatically starts the test when the operator connects the blood line to the system and automatically releases it at the end of the test if the test is positive (passed). In the case of a fail, the fixture will not release until the operator acknowledges the failure. Featuring an easy-to-read 3.5-in. color LCD touchscreen, the “Passed” or “Failed” results are displayed for individual tests as well as totaling the results. The AV10 can be configured with customer-specified connector types and sizes.
The T2/AV10 offers leak test with full scale up to 6 bar and 1 Pa (0.01 mbar) resolution on leak reading. The test pressure can be regulated with a manual precision pressure regulator with pressure indicated on the display.
With individual fill, settle, and measure step times, the T2/AV10 can be programmed for up to 100 tests. It can communicate through digital I/O, Ethernet, USB host/slave, and RS232/R485 serial lines. Data collection is possible via a USB or Ethernet connection.
The Tecna T2 pressure decay leak test uses three phases. Step 1 is the fill; test pressure is verified to be within tolerance and checks for a gross leak. Step 2 is the stabilize step; the fill valves are shut off to isolate the air supply from the test part and the T2 monitors for a gross leak. Step 3 is the leak step, where the Tecna T2 monitors for a fine leak. Limits can be established around the Δp (pressure change) or with the use of a calibrated leak master, the Δp can be converted to a linear flow rate.
