The HACCP International provides certification of food-safe equipment, materials, and services. The HACCP certifcation mark conveys that nonfood products and services that are designed for, or used extensively in, the food industry are deemed “fit for purpose” within operations governed by an HACCP program. Certification can be provided for Codex HACCP and other standards.
Some areas in which HACCP International is active include design of food processing facilities, process and manufacturing troubleshooting, microbiological interpretations, product recall, listeria, food label development, legislation interpretation, expert witness, and litigation.
Now more than ever, companies appreciate this type of proactivity, as it goes a long way to avoid incidents like when a grill brush wire became lodged in the throat of a diner while eating at a restaurant owned by French chef Daniel Boulud. The restaurant was found negligent and fined $1.3 million.
Ronald D. Mathis, CMS, brings years of experience in certification to quality management systems having served in executive-level positions at SGS North America, BSI, AQA International (acquired by NSF International), and Intertek.
