The hour-long training session will be held on Tues., March 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. EDT. Register here.
Participants will learn how to create and format a value-stream map step by step with Quality Companion, a software package designed to manage improvement projects from start to finish. Session content is drawn from Minitab’s two-day Quality Companion Essentials course.
Quality Companion’s value-stream mapping tool makes it easy to track variables such as inventory, takt time and cycle time, among others. The tool can be used to help improve processes in services, manufacturing, the supply chain, health care, software development, and product development.
Quality Companion includes tools to help manage lean Six Sigma and other projects in one application. Its built-in “soft” tools, such as process mapping, brainstorming, and reporting, create a detailed plan for an entire project and the means to complete each step. The software has more than 100 form templates, including C&E Matrix, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and Project Charter, that can be customized to fit any organization.
The software offers on-demand guidance, with built-in Coaches that give advice from experienced lean Six Sigma professionals. When a project ends, Companion maintains the entire project in one file, making it simple to archive and review in the future.
A free, 30-day trial version is available at www.QualityCompanion.com.
