(FARO Technologies: Lake Mary, FL) -- FARO Technologies Inc., a global provider of portable measurement and imaging solutions, has launched a new customer-engagement initiative: “Show Us Your FARO.”

The idea is simple. Contestants head to FARO’s Facebook page and upload videos or pictures of themselves or their team utilizing their FARO equipment in a creative way, or in a way that maximizes time and money savings (otherwise known as return on investment, or ROI). Submissions will be posted on FARO’s Facebook page, and fans will vote to determine eight finalists. A team of FARO personnel will choose two winners—“Most Creative” and “Best ROI”—awarding an Apple iPad 2 to each winner. A prize will also be awarded to a runner-up in each category.
“Our customers take pride in their FARO solutions,” says Kimberly Roman, FARO’s director of marketing. “This is an opportunity for the FARO community to have a little fun with their device. They can finally show the world their creativity and FARO pride.” Social media contests like this are new to the metrology sector, and Roman believes that involving their users has real benefits for the company and their community. “We want to keep our customers involved,” she says. “Social media is a great way for FARO to communicate news and ideas. At the same time, we have created a great network for users to share ideas and best practices and to participate in some great contests like this one.”
The “Show Us Your FARO” contest is already underway. Contestants are encouraged to submit their entry no later than July 31, 2011.
