(GE Inspection Technologies: Billerica, Massachusetts) -- GE Inspection Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire phoenix|x-ray, a high-resolution computed tomography (CT)/X-ray technology used in nondestructive testing (NDT) applications. The transaction, terms of which aren’t being disclosed, will be completed upon receipt of regulatory approvals.
The acquisition will broaden GE’s offerings for NDT customers in various industries, including aerospace, power generation, oil and gas, and automotive, by adding phoenix|x-ray’s innovative 3-D, CT, micro- and nanotechnology systems to GE Inspection Technologies’ current X-ray and NDT portfolio.
