“Measurements that matter: Achieving and sustaining meaningful health care quality and performance results” is the 2012 QIHC theme. The event is hosted by ASQ, the world’s largest network of quality resources and experts, in partnership with the ASQ Healthcare Division.
This year’s QIHC program co-chairs are:
• James Levett, M.D., chief medical officer at Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa
• Laura Kinney, practice leader, environmental sustainability and Baldrige SME at MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Washington
All health care leaders and quality practitioners—from administrators and managers to clinical directors—are invited to submit proposals. The submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 5, 2011.
ASQ is interested in 60-minute technical sessions or 2-hour interactive workshops that provide attendees with skills, tools, or methods that they can apply immediately to their work. Sessions should be relevant for professionals working in hospitals, surgery centers, medical laboratories, blood banks, community health programs, or physician clinics. Content must address the clear learning objectives and special considerations outlined in the call for submissions. They should also cover at least one of the following focus areas:
• Efficiency, cost, and reducing waste
• Patient satisfaction
• Patient safety
• Care coordination
• Quality systems and organizational excellence
• Sustaining a quality culture
