(Juran Institute: Southbury, CT) -- Juran’s Upgrade to Black Belt Workshop is now being offered in Washington, D.C. beginning Feb. 28, 2012. These eight days of training will consist of two, four-day training sessions spanning approximately two weeks. Participants will become technical experts for on-site implementation of lean Six Sigma programs and leaders of major Black Belt-level project teams. (LEI: Cambridge, MA) -- The nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI) will run 13 workshops April 3–5, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, addressing the technical and social aspects of lean manufacturing and lean service transformations.

(TÜV SÜD: Peabody, MA) -- TÜV SÜD America Inc. has opened its 30,000 square foot Energy Efficiency Center of Excellence, located just north of Atlanta. The laboratory is accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025—“General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories,” which allows TÜV SÜD to test and certify products to global energy efficiency programs.

(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- An author and president of a management development and advisory company, and a principle consultant for a recognized thought leader have been selected as keynote speakers for ASQ’s 2012 Lean and Six Sigma Conference.

(Gemba Academy: Mukilteo, WA) -- The development team at Gemba Academy has developed an online training course, Hoshin Planning. Currently the course includes 11 video modules, one quiz, and 11 downloadable files. This brings the total number of continuous improvement videos offered by Gemba Academy to 211. While this might seem like an intimidating number, each video is focused on one main idea delivered in no more than 10 to 15 minutes of visuals and explanations.
