When I measure the diameter of a part (spec 254.6 +0.15/-0.15 mm) on the CMM and then on a gage, there is a difference of 0.03 mm between them. What is the best way to define if that difference is acceptable or not?.
I have just started using electrical equipment to calibrate custom built final test automats in our facility. Prior to this, all calibrations were on physical gages (calipers, micrometers, height indicators) and the results were simply pass/fail.
With the electrical equipment, I must now calculate % error, deviation, etc. Is there such a thing as a reference/text book with metrological formulas?
Hello, I need information about the calibration software.
I am looking to purchase a calibration software package. Does anyone have a recommendation on a calibration system?
Thanks
Question - How do you confirm/verify "self-calibrating" equipment is reliably calibrating itself?
Hi all,
I am looking for equipment that measures the length of a cable, I need to be able to measure incoming spools of cable to within a few feet (+/- 2 ft (600mm) would be great). Additionally, I need to measure cut lengths to within +/- 1 inch (25mm). Could anyone advise some sources for such equipment?
Thanks
While evaluating a true position of a circle in any co-ordinate measuring machine ( CMM)
is there any standard to specify what kind of a calculation to be used to locate the position of a circle,
like LSQ method ( Gauss best fit), Outer tangential element, etc ?
I know from experience that a gage to check low limit of a hole must be a plus tolorance and high limit must be a minus tolorance. but where is this written so I can justify not using a minus tolorance pin as a go
In anticipation of the need for more rapid results on first article scans, we have launched an on-line instant quote for scan and compare-to-CAD services. We're interested in how many companies may have transitioned some of their product verification methods from first article dimensional inspection to precision scanning. We see this technology used a great deal for problem resolution. Less, however in first article verification. Any insights regarding the general acceptance within your organization? I am looking for the Moritex FZ1000 or FZ2000 as it seems these pieces of equipment are no longer being produced.
Thank you.
Fellow Professionals,
I am trying to compare two measuring equipment, and I would like to confirm that the method I am using is the most appropriate.
The Facts;
1- What is being measured is the width of a line
2- The line is a Au plated circuit printed on a clear material
3- The measuring equipment is an optical inspection system that scans the edge of each side of the line and provides the width
4- The measuring system acts with almost no human interaction.
