(NCQA: Washington) -- The National Committee for Quality Assurance has unveiled for public comment the first set of quality measures to assess disease management clinical outcomes. When finalized, the 12 measures, covering five chronic disease areas, will allow employers, health plans, consumers, and others to evaluate the performance of disease management organizations.

(NCQA: Washington) -- The National Committee for Quality Assurance’s Physician and Hospital Quality (PHQ) program recently earned an important endorsement from a respected coalition of employer, consumer, and labor organizations. The Consumer-Purchaser Disclosure Project, a group supported by more than 50 employer, consumer, and labor organizations, has endorsed standards of the PHQ program that assess how health plans and other entities measure and report on the quality and cost of physicians.

(NCQA: Washington) -- Data on clinical performance and patient experience for more than 85 million Americans enrolled in more than 400 commercial health plans are now available from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. NCQA’s Quality Compass, the United States’ most widely used database of health plan performance, includes information on clinical performance and member satisfaction for more than 160 preferred provider plans (PPO) for the first time.
