Touch Probes Improve Machine Shop´s Proficiency
Marposs Mida T25G Probe

Haas Automation, one of America's most successful machine tool companies, installed new Marposs systems on its CNC lathes to increase production economically. The Marposs Mida T25G probe systems offer Haas increased accuracy and automation.

To cost-effectively meet growing production demands, Haas has instituted an unattended "lights out" third shift. The Marposs Mida T25G probes help to reliably meet size requirements during unattended machining of Haas pulleys and gear blanks, typically run in batches of 1,000 to 2,000 pieces. The in-process probe inspections maintain tolerances of 0.001" on pulley inside diameters (IDs) and outside diameters (ODs), as well as multiple IDs and ODs on the gear blanks.

LK´s HC90 CMM

Jaguar Cars Ltd. improved sheet metal matching and profiles by installing a new CMM from LK Metrology Systems Inc. The HC90 CMM, coupled with LK's CAMIO software, brought the luxury car company impressive manufacturing accuracy, a need spawned by increased consumer quality awareness.

New car buyers are able to detect surprisingly small variations in gap widths and profiles. In response to the demand for higher levels of precision, Jaguar has decreed that certain sedan models will maintain more narrow tolerances with respect to sheet metal matching surfaces and profiles. Typically, the new standard will require measurements accurate to within half a millimeter.
