Now in its third edition, this popular book is an automotive supplier's step-by-step guide through QS-9000, written by one of the original requirement's authors. Besides being completely revised, The QS-9000 Answer Book includes information on the TE Supplement and Germany's auto requirement, VDA 6.1.
Two former Marines mine the Corps for lessons that apply to managers at all levels. The chapters cover ideas for recruiting, training, front-line supervision, middle management and senior leadership. They offer a good number of practical ideas and a glowing (and, of course, highly biased) portrait of the Corps.
The authors draw examples and lessons from across recorded history to illustrate their laws of power. But, with laws such as "Crush your enemy totally" and "Do not commit to anyone," the book is not for the faint- or soft-hearted reader.
A strong entry on the decision-making shelf, this book presents the authors' eight-step PrOACT system, a repeatable, rational approach to making decisions of any kind. It also introduces useful decision-making tools like the Consequences Table, Decision Tree and Desirability Curve.
Levesque breaks planning for strategic change down into eight generic questions for the leadership team. The questions cover leadership commitment, communication, customer needs, training, goal setting, measurement and celebration.
