Event: Free Webinar--Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Business, Mitigating Risks

Be prepared for upcoming GHG legislation.

(BSI: Reston, VA) -- In April, EPA issued a proposed rule requiring covered facilities to submit annual reporting of GHG emissions. In May, a law designed to establish a regulatory framework for a national carbon cap-and-trade system was introduced to congress. The impact of climate change to business is no longer academic but present and real.

A free webinar hosted by BSI, will show how greenhouse gas (GHG) emission regulations pose a risk as well as an opportunity in today’s business environment and offers insights on how organizations can best position themselves in an evolving GHG regulatory framework and a carbon-constraint economy. The webinar is July 22, 2009, from  2:00–3:00 PM EST and will be presented by Wilhelm Wang  from BSI and moderated by Lisa Williams from Environmental Protection Online.

The session will address:

  • Evolving GHG regulatory landscape in North America
  • Current development of regional initiatives
  • Key legal implications to business operations
  • Basic steps toward entity emission inventory and reporting
  • Role and benefits of independent verification in entity emission reporting
