TÜV SÜD America Expands Personal Certification Services

Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering now available

(TÜV SÜD: Peabody, MA) -- TÜV SÜD America has added Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) examinations to its personal certification services in the Americas region through TÜV SÜD Examination Institute.

Requirements engineering is regarded as the ultimate discipline to make software projects successful. TÜV SÜD acts as a certification body for persons on behalf of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) e.V.

What are the requirements for new software? Various studies have shown that up to 60 percent of errors in system development go back to poor communication around this issue. To counter the problem, one training qualification has been developed in three levels: IREB CPRE at the Foundation, Advanced, and Expert level. The IREB curriculum and testing was developed by leading experts in the fields of business requirements engineering, consulting, research, and science.

The TÜV SÜD Examination Institute manages participants, examination sessions, and certifications awarded. “We are delighted to have TÜV SÜD as our partner for certification, as they are an experienced and impartial leader in the IT industry,” says Stefan Sturm, director of IREB GmbH in Germany. Individual courses can be developed by prospective CPRE providers based on the IREB.

“By working with the IREB, we can expand the range of our certifications with high-quality individual modules,” says Renate Eberle, senior vice president of the TÜV SÜD Examination Institute at the TÜV SÜD Academy. An interesting aspect is also the international approach of the certification model, especially because of the commitment of the CPRE in Europe, Asia, and North and South America.

Accredited with APM OGC, TÜV SÜD Examination Institute’s globally recognized certifications evaluate competence, know-how, and expertise in the areas of IT service management according to ISO/IEC 20000 as well as information security according to ISO/IEC 27000, and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Examinations are available in both paper and online formats.
