(Predictive Solutions: Oakdale, PA) -- The SafetyCary blog aims to share best practices related to keeping people safe in their workplaces, particularly through the use of leading indicators, advanced analytics, and predictive modeling. The blog’s writer, Cary Usrey, Predictive Solutions’ implementation manager, will share how the four safety truths that were recently published in the white paper, “Predictive Analytics in Workplace Safety: Four ‘Safety Truths’ that Reduce Workplace Injuries,” can be applied across a wide range of industries.
Visitors can ask Usrey nearly any question pertaining to the use of leading indicators to predict and prevent workplace injuries. Many of his responses will be posted to the blog, which visitors can comment on and discuss. Usrey also plans to invite some of his colleagues, peers, customers, and other safety experts to guest post on the blog periodically.

“SafetyCary will serve as an excellent resource for those with safety-related duties, such as EH&S [environmental health and safety] professionals, and even those who are simply looking to learn more about increasing safety in their workplace,” says Usrey. “Since data are the cornerstone to all effective workplace injury-prevention programs, I’m looking forward to sharing how it can specifically be used to reduce workplace injuries and safety incidents by predicting them before they happen.”
After starting his career in the U.S. Navy’s nuclear power program, Usrey spent more than 16 years in various EH&S roles at a power plant and for a large national construction company before joining Predictive Solutions in 2007. He holds an associate degree in occupational safety and health from Trinidad State Junior College, is an officer of the Central Florida chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), and has served on the board of directors for the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association (VPPPA).
