(Konica Minolta: Ramsey, NJ) -- Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Inc. (KMSA), a global provider of industrial measurement of color, light, and shape, announces its participation as an exhibitor at IMTS 2010 in Chicago on Sept. 13–18.
KMSA, a long time supporter and exhibitor of IMTS, will be showcasing its RANGE 7 3-D noncontact scanner, a high-accuracy instrument for measuring the three-dimensional shape of objects such as forged or cast parts, press-formed parts, and plastic parts.
Also available are the VIVID series of 3-D scanners, which provide top-level accuracy for research and development, design, gaming software, video production, museums, and measurement of the human body.
This year at IMTS, Konica Minolta will be hosting free workshops at its booth, No. E5328. The first workshop, “3-D Scanning for Inspection,” will be held daily at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The second, “3-D Scanning for Reverse Engineering” will be held daily at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.. All attendees to the workshops are entered to win an Apple iPAD.
New to the portfolio of 3-D scanning products offered by Konica is its state-of-the-art 3-D scanning lab. A service-based extension to its legendary hardware development, the lab offers 3-D scanning, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and inspection to industrial manufacturers on a project-by-project basis.
“Konica is the absolute measurement standard when it comes to industrial dimensional scanning and inspection,” says Jim Clark, 3-D Business Unit manager for KMSA. “We have been involved in the development and sale of 3-D scanning hardware for well over a decade. Offering a services division is a major shift in our business model because our focus has always been on hardware sales. We feel that this shift is very positive and complementary to the sales’ side of our business.”
The RANGE 7 will be on the show floor for live demonstrations during IMTS 2010.
