If you use Microsoft Kinect for Windows or have Kinect for Xbox 360 equipment, you can scan yourself at home and upload the scan to the Shapify.me website. The 3D model will first be uploaded to the online gallery on www.shapify.me where you can fill out the form to order your 3D printed figurine. It will be sent to your address.
This isn’t a 3D image—it’s a solid, 3D figurine, like a miniature statue—that looks just like you, only smaller. Much cooler than a photo.
Scan your friends and family to make unusual holiday gifts, or unique tree ornaments. Or scan your teammates for a 3D lineup.
The clone is available in monochrome (white) or multicolored plastic, and is 1/20th your actual height, about three to four inches. The detail of the multicolor figurine is good, as you can see in the image below.
3D scanning has never been as easy or inexpensive as with Shapify. Here’s what you need to scan yourself using Shapify.me:
• Microsoft Kinect for XBOX 360 or Microsoft Kinect for Windows
• Windows 7 ×64 bit or Windows 8
• Intel Core I3 or later with at least 4 GB RAM
• Audio speakers
• USB 2.0
• Internet connection
Prices start at $59 with free delivery to the United States and Europe. Delivery services worldwide will soon be available.
