(ADCOLE Corp.: Marlborough, MA) -- A new software option for their camshaft measuring machines, which can measure axial profile across the industry’s newer cam lobes, and have become narrower and produced with tighter grinding tolerances, is being introduced by ADCOLE Corp. of Marlborough, Massachusetts.
The ADCOLE 911 Camshaft Gage is ideal for measuring all automobile and diesel cam lobe lifts (symmetrical and asymmetrical profiles), injector lobe profiles, journal bearings, pump rotors, eccentric shafts, and pistons. Measuring form across the cam lobe at every degree of 360° revolution, this new software can detect a transversal defect of the cam grinding wheel from the wheel dressing procedure, which adversely affects the cam lobe shape.
Capable of early detection of material buildup or other form irregularities which can harm engine performance, the ADCOLE 911 Camshaft Gage measures each cam lobe axial profile from edge-to-edge and creates a 3-D image that illustrates the shape and quickly helps identify irregularities. Applications include accepting new machine tools and annual certification programs.
The ADCOLE 911 Camshaft Gage is priced from $150,000.00 up and is being used by major engine manufacturers worldwide.
