(Mandina: Columbus, OH) -- Mandina's Inspection Services Inc., a global leader in the inspection field, unveils MandinasNDT.com, a state-of-the art, online training site specifically designed to effectively and efficiently train inspection personnel. This training, which focuses on the petrochemical, oil and gas, and large-scale construction fields, allows trainees to teach themselves within the comfort or confines of their home or companies.
Mandina previewed three of their more than 30 training sites at the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) International Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The site’s goal is to provide this service to companies looking to certify staff and increase safety and represents the evolution of Mandina’s corporate offerings.
“We are a builder of other companies, and it is our hope that these training courses will make our wealth of information accessible to companies that don’t have the resources to fully train their employees,” says David Mandina, president and CEO of Mandina.
The training spans traditional inspection methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic, penetrant, and more modern methods, such as phased array, and time of flight. Additional courses feature such topics as eye and light; welding; material and equipment inspection; and levels I, II, and III in each topic.
Only one other company in the United States offers this type of training, so, by offering these programs in conjunction with hands-on training on the most modern inspection equipment, Mandina will become a hub for this training in the inspection industry.
Christopher Wilson, director of information technology for Mandina, says that the evaluation metrics have shown that their training courses have higher results than traditional review methods.
“The passing score is 80 percent, but we’re seeing an average of 85 to 90 percent scores with our students,” says Wilson.
Prices for various training courses currently range from $100 to $750.
Each course strictly adheres to standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Petroleum Institute (API), American Welding Society (AWS), and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
