Company News: Verisurf Donates $528,000 In Software to College

Software benefits Cerritos College machine tool technology program.

(Cerritos College: Anaheim, CA) -- Cerritos College Economic Development in partnership with California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) attended the WESTEC trade show, the largest cutting-edge machine tool and manufacturing event on the West Coast, earlier this year. The college's attendance at this event resulted in a lucrative collaboration between Cerritos College Economic Development, its machine tool technology program, and Verisurf Software Inc.

Verisurf Software Inc. is a California-based software development company that specializes in computer-aided inspection and manufacturing software for a variety of industries. Verisurf offered a donation of 24 seats of software (valuing a total $528,000) in exchange for Cerritos College paying to have one faculty member trained in the Verisurf software as well as produce a series of hands-on training videos featuring the capabilities of the software that Cerritos College students can use as well as other Verisurf customers. Cerritos instructor, Yannick Real, was selected to attend the training, create videos showing the basics of the program and some hands-on applications as well as assist with the installation process.

According to a college spokesperson, the collaboration will benefit Cerritos College Economic Development and the Machine Tool Technology departments for years to come because the campus has been designated as the beta test site for future training through Verisurf. Cerritos students will have the most up to date software and equipment because of Verisurf's donations.
