(LRQA: Coventry, UK) -- This free, live two-hour webinar will be held on July 1, 2009, and will take place twice—at 09:30 and 17:30, UK time—to account for global time zones. The content is the same for both times.
Following up on from the initial LRQA Food Safety Webinar in April, 2009, this second webinar features an update on the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) scheme 22000 owned by the Netherlands-based Foundation for Food Safety Certification.
The focus of this webinar is to provide organizations with the information needed to make responsible and informed decisions that help minimize food safety risk across the supply chain.
The webinar is led by one of the world's leading food safety experts, Cor Groenveld. Groenveld is the chairman of the board of the Foundation for Food Safety Certification, the organization responsible for the FSSC 22000 development.
The Global Food Safety Initiative, whose members include the world's largest food manufacturers and retailers, have now accepted the content of FSSC 22000. This means that FSSC 22000 certification audits can start and that organizations can begin applying for GFSI approved certification.
Groenveld will be discussing what this means to organizations around the world. The webinar will also go into detail on all of the food safety management systems standards available, including ISO 22000, PAS 220 (the recently published document that addresses specific food manufacturing requirements that were not included in ISO 22000), BRC, HACCP and IFS, among others.
Groenveld is a key member of the technical team that developed both ISO 22000 and PAS 220. He has more than 20 years of experience in food safety. More important, he is an expert on both the needs of organizations as well as the possible solutions. Groenveld understands that there is no "one size fits all" solution and that the answers are only attainable when you ask the right questions and listen to the client.
Anyone involved in the food supply chain, from "Farm to Fork," should attend: supply chain managers, organizations involved in food handling, or those involved in the manufacturing and preparation of foods.

LRQA was established in 1985 in response to the first quality standard, BS 5750, which was launched by the UK government. We were the first certification body to gain accreditation for issuing quality management system certificates. It achieved this from the National Accreditation Council for Certification Bodies, now known as the United Kingdom Accreditation Council (UKAS).
The company now operates in most countries around the world. It offers assessment of environmental and health and safety management systems in most industry sectors. LRQA also provides verification and validation services, training services, and approval for a number of EC Directives.
