(FARO: Lake Mary, FL) -- FARO Technologies Inc., a global source for 3-D measurement technology, has released CAM2 Gage 2.2. It is the latest software update for the company’s leading lines of portable measurement solutions, the FaroArm and FARO Gage. New features such as enhanced QuickTools, barcode functionality, and temperature compensation dramatically expedite and improve the accuracy of measurement routines. These and more than 30 new features make CAM2 Gage 2.2 one of FARO’s most complete solutions for fast, high-accuracy contact measurement.
The QuickTools functionality permits users to import and use QuickTools programs generated in FARO CAM2 Measure 10. Barcodes can now be created directly in the CAM2 GAGE software and saved together with the inspection plan data. One click with the new FARO barcode reader, and the inspection plan is instantly loaded in the CAM2 GAGE software. The result is exceptional speed for frequently repeated, everyday measurements.
As part of the newest update to CAM2 Gage, FARO’s temperature probe provides feedback on part temperature during measurement routines. This is important because variations in temperature can adversely affect the accuracy of measurements. By closely monitoring and automatically compensating for these changes, CAM2 Gage helps in providing consistent and accurate results despite changing measurement conditions.
“CAM2 Gage 2.2 software presents new features that accelerate and simplify measurement activities,” says Markus Grau, FARO’s product and business development manager for the FARO Gage. “FARO is fully committed to continuously improving our measurement software packages. With this latest release, we have reached a new milestone in offering the easiest and most intuitive measurement software available.”
