As “Old Man Winter” continues to toss his wrath at many of us, it is quite easy to turn our thoughts toward warmer, sunnier places. One of those locations we are all starting to think about is Reno, Nevada, the location for the 2010 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) hosted by the Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS). For those of you unfamiliar with the CMSC, it is the premier weeklong gathering for 3-D portable close-tolerance metrology systems. There you will see on display more than 20,000 square feet of the latest in measuring equipment, software, and related hardware. Along with the exhibits, there will be three full days of technical presentations, seminars, and workshops. If you only attend one conference in 2010, this should be it!
As always, one of the most anticipated events at the conference is the technical presentations. This is where industry experts showcase metrology projects, share problem-solving applications, and unveil new cutting-edge techniques. Be a part of this highly rewarding event and share your experiences with the rest of the metrology community. Now is the time to submit an abstract for consideration as a white paper presentation. As a presenter, you will join the elite group who have had the distinction of having presented at the CMSC, and will have the opportunity to see your paper published in The Journal of the CMSC, the official publication of the CMS, which is distributed to 10,000 individuals twice yearly.
Guidelines and information on how to submit an abstract and conference details can be found on the CMS web site at www.cmsc.org/cmsc-presenter-information). Here you will also find a plethora of information about the upcoming conference, how to register, hotel specifics, past conference archives, the papers presented there, and much more. If you are not able to attend but want to become a member of the CMS and have access to all the past conference content, visit www.cmsc.org/register/index.php for detailed instructions. Do not hesitate to submit your abstract now, as the April 16 deadline will soon be here. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in Reno, Nevada, from July 12–16.
