Hi, As part of my job I have to inspect job cards that are entered into a database by a person doing the data entering. I want to know what the level of accuracy of data entry is based on a sample I inspect. My question is: (A)How do I calculate what sample size to take from the lot and (B) How do I calculate the confidence level of the results of the sampling inspection. For example I would like to state that based on the sample inspected, the accuracy of data entry is 90% and I am 95% confident of this result. The lot size of the batches of job cards I sample will roughly be between 150-200 job cards and 100% inspection is not viable.
