› Re: Tests for Statistics

There is a good book I found "Statistical Quality Control using Excel" by
Steven Zimmerman & Marjorie Icenogle that provides a wealth of information
on SPC.

There is a data analysis add-in to MS Excel. Tools, Add-ins, Data Analysis
Pack. IT provides a great many statistical tools. Minitab is better, but
the price is right for this one.

The help function gives a basic explanation. The choices are: paired two
sample; two sample for equal variances; Two sample for unequal variances.

Technically, you need to a test for normality and a check for equal
variance. Excel doesn't have a macro for normality (goodness of fit) but it
does do an F-Test which will check for equal variance.
