I will be hired by an outsourcing company to help them acquire their ISO certification. I got my knowledge on ISO standards through an awareness course and through internet research. But I am still at a lost on how to start with the processes of getting an ISO certification. I hope someone out their can give me the stages in simple explanation. Most of the things I discussions/info i got from the internet are quite complicated.
I will greatly appreaciate if someone will give me some light on this matter.

Aside from the standards below you might wanna check out the book called "Applied Acceptance Sampling - plans, procedures". I think the book was written by Kenneth Stephens. It would help you understand the reason behind the reason much better and help you build your own acceptance sampling plan.

I suggest you purchase a copy of two American National Standards-
ANSI/ASQC S2-1995 "Introduction to Attribute Sampling" and
ANSI/ASCQ Z1.4 Inspection by attribute sampling
The second standard has been around for years as the old military inspection sampling standard. The first standard is for people new to inspection sampling. If setting up inspection programs is part of your job, you should have both of these documents on your bookshelf. You can buy them through ANSI or ASQ.
