I have been wondering recently actually how many auditors there are, over all of the different standards in the world. I did a little digging in the IRCA and RABQSA websites but came up with nothing that I could really work with.
I think the figure for ISO9000:2000 certifications worldwide is somewhere around 0.5M, and going on a 10 to 1 ratio of auditors to companies (complete guess) as a 1st approximation I would suggest around 50,000, just for ISO9000, would then have put put all the other variants on top understanding that a lot of auditors can cover many different standards
No real reason for his post apart from sheer curosity, anybody have any other guesstimates?

I am not aware of any non-contact devices that can perform the measurement you need. I'm sure they exist however. Check the vendor links on this website. I will investigate more, just have not come up with the solution for you yet.
