I am in the process of upgrading the quality management system from ISO 9002:1994 to ISO 9001:2000. What is in the market like books i.e "Quality in a Nutshell" or a software that I can read or use as an aide.
If you are acting as importer then you can issue a Declaration of conformity in your own name. If your customer is asking for test reports, however, you will have to provide them. Many testing institutes will issue secondary certificates in the name of an importer with the actual Factory name coded (i. e. number). check with your vendor if that is possible. This will cost you yearly fees to maintain the validity of the certificates.
If he really wants to know who the manufacturer is there are other ways of finding this information especially if your product is a common commodity.
