› EAGLE Food Registrations Granted Accreditation for ISO 22000 Standard

EAGLE Food Registrations Inc., a third-party certification body who audits businesses to international food safety standards, has been granted accreditation by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for the ISO 22000 standard.

ISO 22000 is a globally-accepted Food Safety Management System (FSMS) that focuses on ensuring that foods in the food chain do not cause adverse affects for humans.

“With the increasing globalization of our food supply and increase in food recalls, retailers and consumers are demanding stricter guidelines for food safety,” says Albert “Skip” Greenaway, EAGLE Food Registrations’ president/ceo. “Food safety standards such as ISO 22000 not only meet international regulatory requirements, but create a visible commitment to food safety.”

“When food growers, processors, manufacturers and retailers in the U.S. become certified, it will help decrease the likelihood of recalls and help put better emergency response plans into place to quickly deal with hazards and increase the confidence of consumers,” said Greenaway.

EAGLE Food Registrations began auditing clients to the ISO 22000 standard and providing free public training on the standard in the fall of 2009. EAGLE Food Registrations also offers additional food safety standard auditing and training services for the FSSC 22000 and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
