I have a scenario for Gage GR&R in a Six Sigma Project. Containers of Raw Material have to be weighed on a scale. Each Container has a different amount of material up to 1000 lbs. There are two quick ways I can think of to conduct the GR&R:
1. Select one container and using one operator weigh the same container 20 times. Calculate the standard deviation and variation due to Repeatability. If needed, use another operator and take another 20(twenty) measurements to include variation due to Reproducibility.
2. Use 10(ten) different containers(which will always have different weights) and select two or three operators and take measurements for each container by each operator two or three times each. Then use Minitab to run a crossed Gage G&R using ANOVA method.
Is there another way or a preferred method to do Gage R&R for such a situation where each Unit or Part or Container is not of the same specification or a target value or weight (container could be 500lbs or 1000lbs) and there is no tolerance for the weight.
