What types of measurements can I watch to verify if I have a healthy system running? I track scrap and nonconformances as well as on-time delivery. We are a semi-custom fabrication shop.
For your calibration procedures, I suggest going to GIDEP (http://gidep.corona.navy.mil). Military procedures are available for the types of gages you have, unless it is exceptionally exotic. The military procedures are considered validated, and should save you a ton of work.
Don't forget that for your external calibration needs, you should use a calibration provider accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, with a scope that matches what you need.
