Can anyone please guide me to any Quality Information on Construction Projects? I am talking about large commercial or industrial buildings. Maybe a program using six sigma or TQM. Thanks.
Many of the six-sigma tools can be applied to deploying or implementing ISO 9001:2000. Some of the potential clauses we have identified where six sigma tools can be applied are:
4.0-Quality Management System: SS tools-SIPOC analysis, Process Maps/flowcharts
5.2-Customer Focus/Satisfaction: SS Tools-CTQ Trees
7-Product Realization: SS Tools-Identify process input and output requirements (SIPOC analysis, Process flowchart/maps); Verification and validation of processes/products (Process sigma, control charts,run charts); Identification, assessment and mitigation of risk (FMEAs); Design and development of products/services (DOEs)
8.0 Measurement, Analysis and Improvement: SS Tools-Ogranize customer data from surveys (Affinity diagram); Link VOC data and establish measures (CTQ trees); Facilitation of internal audits (SIPOC/Process maps); Monitoring and measuring of processes(Control charts, Process sigma, run charts); Identify, prioritize and implement corrective action (Cause & Effect tree, Hypothesis testing, Prioritization & Implementation matrices); Identify, prioritize and implement preventive action (FMEAs, prioritization and implementation matrices).
This list takes the view from 30,000 feet. I am sure a more in depth analysis would yield even more correlation between six sigma tools and ISO 9001:2000.
