My company builds designs and builds all types of gages. Many Customers ask for these gages to be tested for linearity error per the current MSA manual. The "goodness of fit" formulas only work when the parts provided for test are at or near the limits of the measurements being tested. Usually the gages being purchased are for future projects and so the parts submitted for test are made on prototype equipment and are usually all alike within a few microns. Is anyone working on a way that these same Customers can perform the linearity tests with MIN, MAX and MEAN masters?
