Even with the advent of electronic files, I struggle with quality documents that are 'posted' in process areas. We are considering tighting our control process by requiring the use of "CONTROLLED COPY" on documents. I'm looking for suggestions on how you control docs in the process areas. Thanks, Steve

First, congratulations on completing a Gage R&R.... it is a sometimes arduous process.
The is a place that specializes in measurement training, and the cost is typically less than going to a consultant. Work Place Training has CD-based training material, usually interactive. http://www.wptraining.com will get you to their site. They have CD's in many disciplines of Metrology.
I have worked with situations like you just described regarding the "old-timers". You are likely correct about their receptiveness. The educational approach is the right approach.
With respect to studies, I suggest PT/ILC (proficiency test/inter-laboratory comparison). There are several available, but you might have to use a PT/ILC for a smaller type of measurement to participate in one. The principles are the same, so you can get value from it. A good organization for PT/ILC is NAPT (National Association for Proficiency Testing). http://www.proficiency.org will get you their web site.
Sometimes seeing how well your folks do compared to others can be a powerful stimulation tool for improvement.
Hope this helps.
