How can we close a project in ISO standard?
Most of USA Engineering firm are not certified ISO and they are excellent in
Documentation Management and Controls.
Please advise
Motorola University offers Green Belt and Black Belt certification. As with many professional certifications, the process is comprised of three steps: 1) complete the training; 2) pass a test; 3) demonstrate project results. (Note that Black Belt candidates are required to demonstrate results on two projects whereas Green Belts must complete one project. "Demonstration" requires a thorough write-up of the project and the methodology/tools used. This write-up is evaluated by a Master Black Belt.) Motorola invented Six Sigma and the concept of Black Belts and Green Belts -- and they continue to be a leading practitioner of the Six Sigma methodology. As a result, their certification is highly regarded in the marketplace.
I would start with ASQ or any other body that offers a true/comparable certification exam. Otherwise the training could be inferior and lead to much future embarrassment for the individuals and the company. There is no quicker way to turn off customers and even internal employees than with a half-trained "professional."
We used the American Society of Quality (ASQ) and were very pleased with there black belt and champion training. They provide hard copies and software copies of the training materials. The instrcutors are available to answer your questions even after training is complete. Minitab, iGrafx, the six sigma way and the balck belt oppaocket guide are just some of the materials provided.
I have compiled a list of organizations, universities, consultancies that offer Six sigma training & Certification for a Comparison study.

INITIAL POSTING: There are a lot of organizations out there certifying Six Sigma Belts. Does anyone have a list of the most prominent of these and which certifications they offer? Also, which organization’s certifications are best reputed?
RESPONSE: Forgot to address your final question in my last response. I don't think that a particular company's certification makes someone good or not. I personally like to see (in a black belt or master black belt hiring process), what a candidate's project reportout looked like (assuming there are no confidential issues) and discuss their overall thought process and how they tackled projects.

RESPONSE: Any direct response to this inquiry would surely have a lot of bias and would not represent a realistic complete picture. There are many companies that offer a full range of Black Belt and other certifications. The selection of which one is right for you and your organization is not an easy task.
What I suggest is that you create a list of potential companies from an internet search. You then select a subset of these companies from a description of their offerings, as noted on their website. You then call each of these companies and ask the open question, "what is the benefit of me working with your company to help deploy Six Sigma or gaining my black belt certification."
This open dialog should help you zero in on the best couple potential providers for you. You then should ask for references. You then call the references, asking them to share their experiencies and the how-to-methods that the provider use within their training/deployment.
From this approach, you should be able to determine the right company for you. Note that I suggested a "level playing field" approach over initially asking friends and colleages who they recommend.
Here's some additional info on the IQF's efforts that I received from Bryan
Dodson, the IQF person in charge of their certification efforts:
As of 12 August 2004 the IQF has certified 271 Black Belts and Master Black
Belts. The IQF has 1266 members as of 12 August 2004. The Purdue School of
Engineering and Technology, IUPUI is also using the exam to certify Green
Belts.
IQF has representatives in India, Malaysia & Singapore.
