My company has manufactured a machine that will measure the length of a treadmill belt for our internal use. A belt is placed on two rollers, air pressure is used to separate the rollers and the computer determines the length of the belt. The pressure is set by the operator and we are working towards standardizing the pressure for each major belt type.
We have discussed the need for calibration for this machine and the only idea we have is to find some steel bands that are endlessed to specific lengths and use them. Does anyone else have any ideas or know where we could get bands made that will have a +/- tolerance of 1/64"?
