As you know the food industry really needs stronger controls, transparency, and quick access to supplier information such as allergen profiles, country of origin (COO), detailed specifications, product profiles, packaging information, etc... I have a company that I have been using for well over six years, their name is Codel Software, they specilise in packages that are both PC,and web based solutions, which can be modified to suit all businesses. We work in a GMP enviroment and need to ensure powerful systems with compliance to requirements. Working with this company has assisted us to achieve our objectives through implementation of taylor made business solutions. There are a number of companies that you can look to that can offer a web-based application for supplier management. Key things you might want to look at (besides price) usability, developing under a best practices model, and customer service. Companies that are out there that my organization looked at were MasterControl (http://www.mastercontrol.com), Etq (htp://www.etq.com), and Mystic Management Systems (http://www.mysticmsi.com).
